Local Items 
 

The Alibi Snack bar which Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Kattre will operate, will be ready for opening the end of next week, according to present plans. 
 

Jeanette Bobbe’s Beauty Shop has been completed and was inspected by the State Board, Wednesday. It is located on Highway 13, south. Mrs. Bobbe will do all kinds of beauty work. 
 

Two homes, built by Earl Butler, on Sycamore Street, have been sold and the new owners are now residing in them. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Schmidt and family have moved from the upstairs apartment in the Carl Johnson house. Paul Fassier, who plans to make his home in Abbotsford, has rented the Johnson apartment. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Maslanka and children have moved to their new home on Sycamore Street. They had been living in the Albert Leichtnam house on Highway 29, east. This has been rented to Jack Leichtnam. 
 

Visitors at the Calmes home to see Mrs. Reis Friday morning were Mrs. Virgil Schlais and daughter, and Mrs. Marie Bargander, Westboro, mother of Mrs. Schlais. In the afternoon, Mrs. Lawrence Smolke and two children, Edgar, called. 
 

Mrs. Fred Weber called on Mrs. Julia Reis Monday morning. Mrs. Mike Kittle called in the afternoon, and in the evening Mrs. Louise Garbish, Wausau, called. 
 

Miss Annie Schiller called at the Calmes home Tuesday morning to see Mrs. Julia Reis. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. William Grottke accompanied by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schmitz and David of Baraboo spent the week end with their son, Billy Grottke, who is receiving his boot training at Great Lakes Naval Station. They spent Saturday with him at Great Lakes and were overnight guests of friends at Des Plaines. On Sunday, they visited at Milwaukee during his 12 hour pass. The Grottkes returned here Monday night. 
 

Louis and Miss Martha Janda and Paul Steffes of Milwaukee spent Saturday afternoon and Sunday at the Janda home. 
 

Al Uhlig purchased four lots from Carl Johnson and plans to build some houses on them. 
 

Two teams of the Catholic Order of Foresters of Abbotsford bowled in the Forester tournament at Hartford, on Sunday. One team included Emil and Alphonse Schraufnagel, Clarence Dolan, George Vetter, and Jim Lamont. The other team included George Kelley, Jerry Muehler, Clarence Klieforth and Mel Nikolay. 
 

A number of cases of mumps in the community have been reported.
