Fults, Sandra Marie (Marriage - 16 June 1956)

The marriage of Miss Sandra Marie Fults, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fults, to Gordon A. Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chet Knight, all of Abbotsford, took place Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating.

Miss Bonnie Leichtnam, maid of honor; Miss Darlene Grambort, Owen Schraufnagel, best man; and Gerald Johnson were the attendants. Lavern Kalepp and Donald Albrecht acted as ushers. All are from Abbotsford.

Miss Lois Ehrenreich, accompanied on the organ by Herbert Juneau, sang "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer" for the double ring ceremony.

For her marriage, the bride selected a floor-length gown of Chantilly lace and soft tulle. The lace bodice had a scalloped peplum forming into points, and the sleeves, also of lace, were long. The skirt was made with one tier of ruffles over another. Her finger tip veil was held by a headpiece trimmed with sequins and seed pearls. She carried a white satin fan arrangement of white glamellias and yellow roses, interspersed with ivy and satin streamers.

The maid of honor and bridesmaid wore white gowns, identically styled, of nylon lace over tulle and taffeta. The strapless bodices were topped by short-sleeved jackets. The skirts, with a six-yard sweep, had ruffled tiers from waist to floor. Their headpieces were made alike of pale yellow carnations. They carried yellow angel feathers in a fan shape, with yellow glads and white stephanotis.

The bride’s mother wore a light blue dress with white accessories, while the mother of the groom chose a navy blue dress with white accessories. Both had corsages of yellow roses and white carnations.

Reception and supper for 150 guests were held in the church basement. Yellow and white decorations were used.

Following a trip to northern Wisconsin and Canada, the couple will make their home in Abbotsford.

Both young people are graduates of Abbotsford high school. The groom is employed at Abbotsford Direct Service.

Guests attended the wedding from Abbotsford, Colby, Milwaukee, Hayward, Eau Claire, Dorchester, Owen, Chippewa Falls, Stanley, Withee, Cable, Prairie du Chien, and Minneapolis, Minn.
