Hardrath, Caroline   (25 MAY 1946)

Before an altar decorated with palms, flowers and lighted tapers held in candelabra, Miss Caroline Hardrath, daughter of Mrs. William Hardrath of Manitowoc, became the bride of Charls H. Rodewald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rodewald of Manitowoc, in a nuptial ceremony read at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25, by the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Manitowoc.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, George Kluenker Sr., was attired in a gown worn by her sister, Mrs. Arnold Hetland, styled with a slipper satin bodice, which held the frothy chiffon skirt over satin and net and extended into a long train. A seed pearl design the chiffon yoke of the high neckline and her long sleeves ended with a point over the wrist. Her veil was three quarter length, with butterfly appliqués attached to a Dutch style cap of embroidered lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses.

Ellen Hardrath, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mildred Rodewald, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Their gowns were identical, made of moonglow taffeta with basque waists and very full bouffant skirts, with quarter length sleeves. They carried bouquets of tea roses.

The best man was Arnold Vetting, friend of the groom, and George Hardrath, cousin of the bride, was groomsman. The ushers were Arnold Hetland and Elroy Schwalbe, brothers-in-law of the bride and groom respectively.

Miss Germaine Kanter sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and "O Perfect Love" accompanied at the organ by Victor Albrecht.

Mothers of the bride and groom wore dark dresses with matching accessories. They had corsages of white carnations.

Following the ceremony, dinner was served to the immediate families at Francis Creek. A reception was held at the Lincoln Field House at 8 o’clock.

The bride was a graduate of the Loyal high school in 1936 and attended the Wausau Business Institute and since that time was employed in Manitowoc. For the past 4 1/2 years she worked at the first National bank there.

Among those attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kloszinski of Loyal.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
