Bertz, May Virginia  (08 JUNE 1946)

On Saturday afternoon, June 8, at 1 o’clock, Miss (?) May Virginia Bertz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Bertz of Loyal, was presented in marriage by her father to Clarence M. Bushnell, son of Mrs. Florence Bushnell of Stevens Point. The Rev. Fr. Aloys Zinthefer officiated at the ceremony, which took place in St. Anthony’s rectory.

The bride’s only attendant was her sister, Miss Rosemarie Bertz. Mr. Bushnell was attended by his only brother, Harley Bushnell, of Nekoosa.

The Bride was attired in a white nylon gown fashioned from a parachute. Her floor length gown, with a skirt, long sleeves and sweetheart neckline was all trimmed in white lace. She wore a double strand pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. The bouquet she carried was of red, pink and white carnations. The bride carried out the tradition of wearing "something old," "something new," "something borrowed," "something blue."

The maid of honor wore a gown of sheer white nylon, with an embroidered bodice over aqua taffeta. The pink and white carnations in her bouquet were matched with the carnations she wore in her hair.
