Chris Larsen, who owned and operated the Thorp Auto Sales Garage here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), until last August, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital at Palm Beach, Florida, on March 2nd, 1954 after a heart attack.  He had suffered a stroke in December 1952 but was thought to be on the way to recovery.  He had spent considerable time the past year at his summer resort at Chetek, Wis., and went to Florida for the winter and to hasten his recovery.  He sold his business here to Frank Winiarczyk last fall.

Chris Larsen was born in Chicago Aug. 7, 1903.  He came to Withee with his parents while a small boy and resided on a farm south of there during his boyhood.  He graduated from the Withee High School and attended the University of Wisconsin for two years and was employed by the Milwaukee Baking company for several years.  He was united in marriage to Ardis Veritt of Thorp on Feb. 11, 1939.  He operated the Ford Garage here for the past twenty-four years.

Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Donna Mac Larson, two brothers, Tom and Alfred, Milwaukee and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Ammentorp, Withee, and Mrs. Marilyn Sorenson, Fenton, Mich.

Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Church at Thorp on March 10th, Rev. A. M. Muckerheide officiating, and burial took place in Oakland Cemetery at Berlin, Wis.
