Motelet, Stella (16 Jan. 1923 - 29 May 1957)

Mrs. David Motelet, 35, died Wednesday morning of cancer. The body is at the Nick & Son Funeral Home at Tomahawk, where friends may call Thursday and to the time of the funeral.

A requiem high mass will be sung at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Tomahawk Saturday morning. The time has been tentatively set for 10:00 o’clock. Burial will follow in the family plot in Tomahawk.

Mrs. Motelet was born Stella Robinett Jan. 16, 1923, at Cedar Bluffs, Va. She and David Motelet, who was in the armed forces at the time, were married at Baltimore, Md. on April 7, 1945. After his discharge from the service, they lived at Tomahawk and then on Feb. 4, 1956, came to Abbotsford.

Mrs. Motelet underwent surgery for cancer, last Dec. 15, and again on Jan. 3. A flare-up of that condition caused her death at 4:54 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted Sunday.

Surviving her are her husband and two children, Helen 10, and Robert 5, of Abbotsford; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Robinett, of Princeton, West Va., and six sisters and five brothers. One sister and one brother preceded her in death.
