Burzynski, Irene (25 SEP 1954)

Before an ebony black altar decorated with bouquets of white gladiolas and red roses, Miss Irene Burzynski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Burzynski Sr., of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. William E. Green, son of Mrs. Mae Green of Chicago, in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Father John J. Rockford at St. Mark’s Church at 10:00 o’clock a.m., Sept 25th, 1954.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother Stanley Burzynski of Thorp.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of imported Chantilly lace and drifts of filmy nylon tulle, with a scalloped neckline and a long tulle train lined with rich glowing satin.  She wore a beaded rhinestone coronation crown with a fingertipped veil, edged in lace and carried a white prayer book with a dainty bouquet of colored orchids and streamers.  The prayer book was a gift from the groom.

The maid of honor, Miss Eloise Green, sister of the bride, wore an orchid, strapless gown of lace and net over taffeta with a matching bolero jacket.

The bridesmaid, Miss Cleone Spaeth of Boyd, wore a Nile green gown identical to the maid of honor’s.

The maid of honor and the bridesmaid wore rhinestone necklaces with matching earrings, a gift of the bride, and carried cascades of white carnations with tiara headbands of white carnations.

The groom and his best man, Mrs. Henry Burzynski of Marshfield, wore powder blue tuxedo jackets with dark trousers.

While the soloist sang, "On This Day Oh Beautiful Mother," the bride place a bouquet of mixed flowers at the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The bride’s mother wore a beautiful dress of black nylon with a full collar trimmed with lace and a corsage of baby orchids.

The groom’s mother wore an attractive aqua colored, taffeta dress with matching accessories and she also wore a corsage of baby orchids.

An informal dinner was held at the Belvedere Lounge for the immediate families.

After a honeymoon trip through Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin, with a short stay at Thorp, the happy couple are now at home at 2742 W. Haddon, Chicago, Ill.

Out of town guests were Mrs. George Burzynski Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Burzynski and family of Thorp, Miss Cleone Spaeth of Boyd, Mr. Hank Burzynski of Marshfield, Miss Gertrude Wortinger of Indianapolis, Ind., Miss Eleanor Bedwiecz, R.N., of Elmwood Park, Ill., and Pvt.
