Micke, Anton (26 DEC 1872 - 12 NOV 1954)

 

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Arnold M. Muckerheide on Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church for Anton Micke who passed away at his home here on Friday afternoon.

 

Mr. Micke was born at Hollandtown, Wis., on Dec. 26, 1872.  He was married on Sept. 26, 1898, to Mary Pritzel at Billion, Wis.  They were pioneer residents of the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), moving to the city of Thorp 22 years ago.

 

He is survived by his wife and eight children, William of the town of Worden; Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Benzschawel of Worden Mrs. F. E. Velcheck (Cecelia), Stevens Point; Mrs. Robert Benzschawel (Veronica), Mrs. W. G. (Margaret) Vanderhyden, Mrs. B. J. (Dolores) Burkhardt, Mrs. Leon (Lenore) Haynes of Chicago, and Mrs. Marion Culbert of Eau Claire; 29 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. N. Nytes and Miss Elizabeth Micke of Kaukauna, Wis., and one brother, Henry of Hollandtown.

 

Six grandsons served as pallbearers.  They were: Irvin Benzschawel, Bernard Benzschawel, William Micke Jr., Robert Benzschawel, Charles Velcheck and Richard Vanderhyden.
