Seufzer, Joseph (8 AUG 1874 - 11 DEC 1954)

 

Joseph Seufzer, a resident of Stanley, died at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire Saturday morning, Dec. 11, 1954.

 

Mr. Seufzer was born in Schlkson, Germany, Aug. 8, 1874, and came to the United States as a young man and settled in Chilton, Wis., where he was a tailor.  In 1896 he was married to Mary Hoase in Chilton and in 1899 they moved to Stanley and settled on a farm in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.).  In 1915 they moved to another farm in the township of Thorp, and in 1943 moved into Stanley.  His wife preceded him in death in 1950.

 

Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Anton of Stanley, Herman of Baraboo, Joseph of Owen, Leona at home, Mrs. James (Martha) Collon of Durwood, Wis., Mrs. Charles (Helen (Derval of Highland, Ill., 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

 

Mr. Seufzer was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stanley, and of Holy Name Society.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Ann’s Church with Rev. Edmund Kramer officiating.  Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
