Bill Seliskar passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at the age of 66. He was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Waukegan, Ill., to Philip and Evelyn Seliskar.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Seliskar of Wisconsin; and a sister, Phyllis Jurceka of Illinois.

Bill graduated from Greenwood Community High School in Wisconsin in 1961. He was a talented baseball player and was selected to participate in the 1962 Silver Sluggers All-Stars game. In 1965, he was drafted into the Army and served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with V device and Oak Cluster for heroism. After his service in the war, he graduated from Triton College with an associate of science degree.

Bill was the president of Cat Claws, a company that he founded with his wife, Gale, in 1986, in Illinois. In 1993, the couple relocated the company to Morrilton, Ark. Bill and Gale strongly believed in sharing the success of their business with the community and were honored in 2003 by the Arkansas Community Foundation for being an Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation. Bill also received recognition by Governor Mike Huckabee in May of 2005 for distinguished accomplishments and outstanding volunteer services. He served as Chairman of the Conway County Republican Party for many years, and was a sitting member of the Board of Directors for The Safe Place.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Gale Seliskar of Morrilton, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Pete Zambrzycki of Morrilton, Ark., and Ginger and Charles Bussey of McDonough, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Ann Seliskar and Judy Benzel of Menomonie; four grandsons; two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
