Pawlak, Anton (30 DEC 1866 - 26 MAR 1955)

 

Anton Pawlak, 88, died Saturday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Gronek, near Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Church, the Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the Izydorek Funeral Home in Thorp until the time of the services.

 

Besides his daughter, Mr. Pawlak is survived by six sons, Joseph and Andrew of Thorp, Frank, South Gate, Calif.; John, Los Angeles, Calif., Steve, Withee, and Michael of Chicago; 33 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Przysiuda, Rochester, N.Y., and one brother, Michael of Milwaukee.

 

Mr. Pawlak was born in Poland Dec. 20, 1866 and came to the United States in 1897, settling in Pennsylvania.  He came to Thorp in 1909 and farmed until his retirement in 1942, when he moved into the City of Thorp.  He lived with his daughter for the past two years.
