Schweiger, Anna  (29 JAN 1868-14 (?) SEPT 1946)

 

Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. Anthony’s Catholic church here for Mrs. Ferdinand Schweiger, 78.who died early Saturday morning at her home in the village, after having been ill for about two weeks. The Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiated at the requiem high mass, and burial was in the parish cemetery.

 

Mrs. Schweiger, the former Anna Windl, was born at Jefferson on Jan. 29, 1868, and was married there on Nov. 27, 1888. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Schweiger lived on a farm near Globe for a number of years and then purchased a farm in the town of Loyal. They lived there until about 15 years ago, when they moved into the village.

 

Her husband.who, besides five children, survives, is a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield. The surviving children are: Mrs. Frank (Bertha) Rueth, Mrs. Charles (Belle) Wehling, John Schweiger and Mrs. George (Marcella) Schllinger, all of Loyal, and Mrs. Charles (Hilda) Ley of Chili. There are also 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Tree children preceded their mother in death, one of whom was Mrs. Jesse (Agnes) Richmond, who passed away in February, 1931.

 

Pallbearers at the funeral Tuesday were: Leo Theisen, John Elsinger Sr., John Geiger, Ed Bertz, Frank Degenhardt and Bert Brown.

 

Flower girls were: Lois Ann Langfeldt, Joan Langfeldt, Joan Schellinger, Jane Schellinger, Betty Miller and Carol Elsinger.

 

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Windl and daughter, Shirley, Mrs. Alois Ganser and Mrs. Ernest Peterson, all of Jefferson, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ley and son Elmer, and daughter, Alice, all of Chili, Jess Richard and son of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Englebretson and children of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gravitter and Mrs. Rudolph Gravitter of Marshfield.

 

The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved  relative.
