Burlingame, Nancy (Marriage - 5 March 1955)

The Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church of Neillsville was the scene Saturday afternoon, March 5, 1955 of the marriage of Miss Nancy Burlingame of Alma Center to Ronald Embke of Neillsville.  The ceremony was performed at two o’clock by the Rev. Jacob Grether.

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Burlingame of Alma Center and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Embke of Neillsville are the parents of the young couple.

The bride wore a gown of ballerina length nylon net over taffeta with a lace bolero with three quarter length sleeves.  Her fingertip veil was held in place by a crown of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and white hyacinths.

She was attended by Miss Betty Gates of Black River Falls, as maid of honor.  Her sister, Mrs. William Gohde of Alma Center, was her bridesmaid.

Darrell Embke acted as his brother’s best man. Groomsman was William Gohde.  Robert Burlingame ushered.

A reception for the young couple was held in the church basement, which was decorated in yellow.

The bride is a graduate of the Lincoln High School of Alma Center with the class of 1954 and the groom was graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1952.

Mr. and Mrs. Embke will make their home with the groom’s parents.  He is employed with his father in the well drilling business and in operating the farm in the Town of Levis.
