Mamayek, Dolores (28 MAY 1955)

Miss Dolores Mamayek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mamayek of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Julian Slowiak, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Slowiak of Stanley, in a ceremony performed by Father Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church here on Saturday morning, May 28th, 1955.

The bride was attired in a lace and nylon net over satin gown, the skirt of which had four tiers of scalloped lace and net.  The beauty of the attire was enhanced by fitted bodice, long sleeves, stand up collar and sequin trimmed yoke.  Her fingertip veil fell from a crown of pedals trimmed with rhinestones.  She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley, centered with an orchid.

Maid of honor was Patricia Mamayek, sister of the bride, who wore yellow embroidered net with fitted bodice, three tiers of ruffles in skirt and net jacket.  She carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and pink carnations and yellow and pink rosettes.

Bridesmaids were Carol Hensial, cousin of the bride, attired in blue, and Marcella Slowiak, cousin of the groom, in pink, the dresses of the same style as that of the maid of honor.

The groom was attended by his nephew, Stephen Slowiak, as best man, Ronald Mamayek, cousin of the bride, and John Klisiewicz.  David Mamayek, the bride’s brother, and Louis Slowiak, brother of the groom, served as ushers.

The wedding breakfast was served at St. Hedwig’s Hall to immediate relatives and the reception and dinner was also held there.

The groom is a graduate of the Stanley High School and the bride a graduate of Thorp High School.

They are spending their honeymoon in Colorado, after which they will make their home at 2104 S. 36th St., Milwaukee, Wis. , where the groom is employed at Air Reduction and the bride at American Motors.
