Cramer, George (28 July 1876 - 27 January 1956) 
 

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home for George Cramer, 79, of 118 (113?) Clay Street.  Mr. Cramer died Friday morning from a heart ailment. 
 

The Rev. Frank Harcey, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiated.  Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.   
 

Mr. Cramer was born July 28, 1876, the son of the late Peter and Jane (Phillips) Cramer of the Town of Washburn.  Here he spent his boyhood and attended the rural school.  Upon completion of his schooling he farmed in the town of Washburn for a few years and later operated farms in the towns of Grant and York. The Cramer family moved to Neillsville in 1926.  
 

He served the county as deputy sheriff under William Bradford.  He also worked as night clerk at the Merchants Hotel.  He served for a time as a substitute rural mail carrier. 
 

In 1933 he worked for the city of Neillsville as a police officer and retired in 1945.  He was a member of the Congregational Church. 
 

His marriage to Iva Lawery took place in 1896.  She preceded him in death September 30, 1942. 
 

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George (Hazel) Hubing of Neillsville, and one son, Guy Cramer, of Janesville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 
 

His parents, three sisters and his wife preceded him in death. 
 

Pallbearers were: Arthur Hubing, Soren Larsen, Harold Ottow, Ralph Short, Irving Stevens and Louis Zank. 
 

Out of town relatives attending the services were: Guy Cramer of Janesville; Mr. and Mrs. William Lowe and children, Ripon; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schroeder, Junction City; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Woodford, Mrs. Bud Wickham, and Guy Woodford, all of Black River Falls.
