Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from the Humbird Methodist Church for Mr. Clara Putman, 76, who died November 27 at the home of her daughter in Omro.  She formerly lived in Humbird.

Burial was made in the Mentor Cemetery.  The Rev. Noode of Elo, and the Rev. A. Riley, pastor of the Humbird church, officiated.

Mrs. Putman was born August 27, 1880, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bangle of Fairchild. She received her education in the Humbird schools.  Following her marriage to Ernest Putman they farmed in the Humbird community and later operated the Humbird Hotel.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1927.

She continued to operate the hotel until 1930, when she went to make her home with her children. The past year she had been living with her daughter at Omro.  She had been in poor health for the past year, and the Thursday prior to her death she had a stroke.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lewis (Helen) Fitzmaurice, Humbird; Mrs. O. G. (Marie) McSchooler, Omro; Ernest Putman, Dillon, Mont.; I. V. Putman, Janesville; Joe Putman, Humbird; Mrs. George (Margaret) Hunter, Pickett, Wis.; Mrs. Glen (Dorothy) Bohl, Reedsburg; John Putman, Berlin; Mrs. Clara Lamb of Janesville.
