Neillsville News - By Amber Pischer

Twenty-eight members of the Clark County Historical Society (CCHS) held their winter meeting at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, with a potluck served at noon, followed by the business meeting led by CCHS President, Charlotte Tetzlaff.  Museums represented were Colby, Stanley, Willard, Thorp, Loyal and Neillsville.  Christine Kur volunteered as chairperson for the essay contest this year.  Shirley Anderson and Charlotte Tetzlaff will take over the newsletter duties.  President Tetzlaff asked for a volunteer to head the membership duties.  It was tabled until the summer meeting. Darlene Celar, Willard Club, told of the upcoming festivities to be held June 25, 26, and 27 in Willard.   Dave Jankowski told of the grand opening to be held at the Stanley Historical Society July 10 and 11.  Stanley also volunteered to hold the summer CCHS meeting in June, date uncertain at this time.  Election of officers for the CCHS will be held at this meeting.  Mr. Jankowski also talked about the importance of the census letters, which will be coming in the mail soon.  Following the meeting guests were invited to tour the Clark County 1897 Jail Museum.
