Holt, Nancy Jean (Marriage - 1 June 1957)

The marriage of Miss Nancy Jean Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Holt of Neillsville and Edward E. Tresemer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Tresemer, also of Neillsville, was solemnized in a candlelight service at 7:30 Saturday evening, June 1, at First Methodist Church, Neillsville.  One hundred fifty guests were present to hear the wedding vows in a double ring service performed by the Rev. Virgil L. Holmes, pastor.

Floral decorations for the occasion were baskets of white gladioli and pew markers of pastel flowers and ribbon streamers.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of lace and tulle over taffeta.  It was fashioned with a fitted bodice and a lace-trimmed, tiered skirt with a train.  Her finer-tip veil was of appliquéd tulle.  Her flowers were sweetheart roses and lilies of the valley arranged in a fan bouquet.

The bride’s matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Robert Zager.  Bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Tresemer, sister of the groom and Miss Eileen Schwarze of Greenwood, cousin of the bride. The attendant’s gowns were yellow, blue and pink, respectively, and each wore a matching headband.

Roland Tresemer of Springfield, Mo., served his brother as best man.  His other attendants were Eddie Henchen and Robert Zager, both of Neillsville.  Ushers were Bill Holt, brother of the bride, and Eddy Holt of Marshfield, cousin of the bride.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Iris Randall. Robert Mitte sang, "Because and "I Love You Truly," with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Randall.

A reception for 150 guests was held at the V. F. W. hall, where the decorations were streamers of yellow, blue and pink, and floral bouquets.

After a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells and southern Wisconsin, the young couple will reside at 307 West Street, Neillsville, in a home already prepared.

Out of town relatives and friends attending were: the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Holt, of Granton; Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Olson and son of Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze and family of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dorn of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Olson, Jr. and family of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Merton Holt and family of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Holt and sons of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holt of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holt of Sheboygan; Miss Eileen Henchen of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Roland Tresemer of Springfield, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zager of Willard, and Mrs. Imogene Henchen of Merrillan.
