Morse, Edward  (28 JULY 1879-23 JAN 1947)

Funeral services for Edward Morse, 76, who passes away at 4 o’clock Thursday morning, Jan. 23, were held in the Loyal Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Lee H. Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Loyal cemetery.

Mr. Morse was born in Rubicon on July 28, 1870. On Oct. 4, 1892, he was united in marriage to Hannah Hofman. This union was blessed with two sons, Frank and George. The latter preceded his father in death, passing away in 1931.

In the spring of 1902, Mr. and Mrs. Morse came to Clark county, where he purchased a farm and where he made his home the rest of his life. He had been failing in health for some time before passing away last Thursday at the age of 76 years, five months and 22 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and son, four grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Mrs. Ray Prior, Mrs. Calvin Prior, Arnold Wicklund and R. B. Colby sang "I Shall Understand" and "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me" at the funeral services, accompanied by Miss LaVonne Smith. Pallbearers were Paul Feder, William Seidelmann, George Kronberger, Frank Dux, Gust Kuester and Edgar Vick. Mrs. Seidelmann and Mrs. Vick were in charge of the flowers.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Campbell, James Campbell and Mrs. Harvey Christensen, all of Ellsworth, Mr. and Mrs. August Schwantes and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schultz of Horicon, Mrs. Mary Thompson and Ivan Thompson of Hartford, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Powell of Spring Valley, Miss Velma Morse of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huntington of Norwalk.

The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
