Krause, Henry  (07 DEC 1882-02 MAR 1947)

Henry Krause was born in Germany on Dec. 7, 1882. He remained in that country until he was 30 years old, when he came to the United States. He worked in and around New York City and Milwaukee for three years before coming to Clark county, purchasing a farm north of Loyal, where he resided.

On Mar. 16, 1915, he was married to Mrs. Martha Kurzheim, this union being blessed with one son. His wife preceded him in death, passing away on Jan. 4, 1933. On Sunday evening Mar. 2, Mr. Krause was seized by a heart attack, and he was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield by George Foelsch. He passed away at the hospital at about 10:15 the same night.

He leaves to mourn his death, besides his son, Gary, the following step-children: Alfred Kurzheim of Hartford, Harry Kurzheim of Milwaukee, Mrs. Sadie Vogel of Loyal, Mrs. Florence Spurgeon of Spar Harbor, Mich. Mrs. Lillian Hawley of the town of Loyal, and Mrs. Esther LaPoint and Mrs. Evelyn Arthur of Belle Vernon, Pa.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Lee H. Holmes on Thursday, Mar. 6, with  short services in the Loyal funeral home at 1:30 p.m. followed by 2 o’clock services in the Loyal Methodist church. Burial was in the Loyal cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Geiger, Albert Davel, George Foelsch, Herman Litka, Nick Beaver, and Albert Witt. Those in charge of flowers were Mrs. Ernest Schoettler, Mrs. August Luber, Mrs. Lawrence Wichman, Mrs. Alfred Anderson and Mrs. Henry Smith.

Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Elizabeth Schilling of Weyauwega, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Krause and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kurzheim of Milwaukee

, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kurzheim and two children of Hartford, and Mrs. O. F. (Dick) Arthur and Mrs. Arthur LaPoint of Belle Vernon, Pa.

The tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
