Elmhorst, Eldred W. (3 August 1933 - 5 February 2010) 
 

Eldred W. Elmhorst, 76, of Neillsville died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Wausau. 
 

Eldred was born Aug. 3, 1933, in the Town of Pine Valley to Henry P. and Dorothy A. (Daniels) Elmhorst.  He attended Granton Grade School and Neillsville High School, graduating valedictorian of his class.  He also attended Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada.  He married Ruby Heitke in August 1966.  In the 1950s he drove a truck for Service Bakery in Marshfield and then worked at Marshfield Living Center.  He was a taxi driver in Kansas City.  He became disabled in the 1980s. 
 

Eldred is survived by eight brothers, Henry "Dick" (Joan) Elmhorst of Rudolph, Roy (Sue) Elmhorst of Iola, William (Virginia) Elmhorst of Neillsville, Daniel (Joelle) Elmhorst of Neillsville, Michael (Vangie) Elmhorst of Paynesville, MN, Andrew Elmhorst of Wisconsin Rapids, Paul Elmhorst of La Crosse and James Elmhorst of Neillsville, and two sisters, Rosemary McBride of Neillsville and Judith Hineline of Pittsville. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy. 
 

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Buchanan Funeral home, Neillsville, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor Steve Wentz officiated.  Eldred’s brothers served as pallbearers.  Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
