Pawlak, Anton #2 (30 DEC 1866 - 26 MAR 1955)

 

Anton Pawlak, 88, died Saturday evening the 26th, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Gronek, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).  Funeral services were held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Church, the Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating.  Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Church Cemetery.

 

Besides his daughter, Mrs. Stanley (Stella) Gronek.  Mr. Pawlak is survived by six sons, Joseph and Andrew, Thorp; Frank, South Gate, Calif.; John, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mike, Oak Lawn, Ill., and Steve, Withee; Thirty-three grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.  A sister, Mrs. Anna Przysinda, Rochester, N.Y., and one brother, Michael of Milwaukee.

 

Mr. Pawlak was born in Poland on Dec. 30, 1866, and came to the United States in 1897, making his home in the state of Pennsylvania.  He came to Thorp in 1909 and farmed until his retirement in 1942.  He lived with his daughter in the city of Thorp.

 

Friends and relatives attending the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pawlak, South Gate, Calif.; John Pawlak of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mike Pawlak of Oak Lawn, Ill.; Anthony and Helen Przysinda of Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Anna Fijalkiewicz and Sophie Nitek of Conrad, Wis.; Frank, Helen and Sophie Gronek of Chicago, Ill.; Edward Gronek, Lyons, Ill.; and Stella Pawlak, Chicago.  Acting as pallbearers were Mr. Pawlak’s grandsons, Frank and Edward Gronek, Clemence Grajeck, Joe, Benjamin and Calvin Pawlak.
