Jerina, Frank M. (11 AUG 1920 - 8 FEB 2010)

 

 

Frank M. Jerina, 89, resident of the Waukegan area since 1946, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Vista East Medical Center. He was born on August 11, 1920 in Owen, (Clark Co.) WI and married the former Frances Jesenovec in 1947.

Frank was retired from Johnson Motors after 37 ½ years of employment. He was a member of Queen of Peace Church, St. Mary’s #79 KSKJ, Waukegan Seniors Club and Steelworkers Retiree’s Club.

Frank enjoyed Canadian fishing trips with his sons and grandsons. He was proud of his Slovenian heritage and enjoyed its culture and traditions, but most of all the music and singing.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Fran, to whom he was married to for over 62 years; daughter, Pat (Rudy) Pugel of S. Milwaukee, WI; sons, John (Marcia) Jerina of Antioch, IL and James (Robin) Jerina of Gurnee, IL; six grandchildren, Mark Pugel, Andrea (Lee) Ostrowski, Christa (Jeremy) Kerber, Chris Jerina, Kendall and Cameron Jerina; great-grandson, Liam Kerber; sisters, Frances Hemersbach of Park City, IL and Anne (Tony) Lesnak of Waukegan as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Jerina; brother, Fred; sisters, Mary Kinsey, Emma Merlock, Sophie Mivshek and Jennie Mulligan.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL and from 9-10am on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Most Blessed Trinity (Queen of Peace site), 910 - 14th St., North Chicago, IL. Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday at the church. Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Be sure to visit the online guestbook at www.gurneefuneralhome.com
