Burch, Belle (5 February 1862 - 3 July 1958)

Mrs. Belle Burch, 96, long time resident of Greenwood, died July 3, at a nursing home at Fairview, Minn. The body arrived Sunday noon and was lying in state at the Hill Funeral Home.

Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Ethel Nulton performing the rites.  Pallbearers were: Chester Shields, Hastings Baird, William Steiger, Julius Hoehne, Elmer Johnson and Perry Volk.

Mrs. Burch, nee Belle Andrews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Andrews, was born February 5, 1862, in the Province of Ontario, Canada.  At the age of five she came to the United States with her parents and their three other children to Tunnel City, where they lived for two years before coming to Greenwood in 1869.  She received her education here, and for many years taught schools in Clark County.

On November 18, 1890, she was married to E. T. Burch.  Her husband died August 17, 1912.  She resided here until several years ago, when she went to live with her only daughter and husband, Dr. and Mrs. George (Edna) Hauser, at St. Paul. The last few years she was a resident of the nursing home in Fairview, Minn.

Besides her daughter she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Albert (Hattie) Shanks of Greenwood, a brother, William Andrews of Owen, and four grandchildren.
