Schuld, Marilyn Ann (Marriage - 26 July 1958)

A double-ring ceremony at St. Mary’s Church Saturday joined in marriage Miss Marilyn Ann Schuld and Floyd D. Opelt both of Rt. 3, Neillsville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leander Schuld, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Opelt are the parents of the groom.  The Rev. Joseph Eisenmann officiated.

About 200 guests attended the services, in which the bride was given in marriage by her father. Vases of white gladioli decorated the church.

The bride was attired in a floor-length gown of white tulle over satin, with a fitted bodice and a lace jacket.  Her fingertip veil cascaded from a crown of seed pearls and sequins.  She carried a white orchid on a white prayer book, with streamers of white down the front.

The maid of honor, Miss Helen Wehe of Loyal, and the bridesmaid, Miss Echo Galbreath of Wisconsin Rapids, wore identical dresses of blue ruffled net with picture hats to match. They carried bouquets of pink and white carnations with blue bows.

The bridal party also included a flower girl, Nancy Schuld, niece of the bride, and a ring bearer, Rex Galbreath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Galbreath of Wisconsin Rapids.  Nancy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Schuld of Glenview, Ill., wore a dress similar to that of the bride and carried a basket of pink roses and white baby mums.

The groom was attended by Thomas Wavrunek of Neillsville as bestman.  Ushers were David Schuld, brother of the bride, and Ronald Opelt, nephew of the groom, of Madison.  They wore powder blue jackets with black trousers and white carnation boutonnieres.

Music was furnished by the choir of St. Mary’s church.

A reception for 200 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents, 2103 Black River Road, and 100 were entertained at a dinner at noon in the American Legion Hall.  The Newlyweds are on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Opelt are graduates of the Neillsville High School.  The groom has attended the University of Wisconsin for two years.  At present he is employed in Neillsville.

Relatives attended from Loyal, Wisconsin Rapids, Hales Corners and Eau Claire; Glenview and Wheeling, Ill.
