Armitage, Willis K. (1 Jan 1851 - 4 Apr 1912) 
 

Willis K. Armitage died last Thursday morning at his home at Christie after an illness of but a few hours. 
 

Mr. Armitage was born in Dodge Co., Wis., Jan. 1, 1851, the son of Joseph and Mary Sykes Armitage, both natives of Lancanshire, England.  He was reared on a farm and educated in the common schools of Dodge Co.  He came to this county in the fall of 1882 and located on the farm where he has since resided. 
 

Mr. Armitage was married Jan. 1, 1874, to Susannh Timerson, a daughter of Jacob and Eliza Millholland Timerson.  Mr. Armitage is survived by his wife, two sons, Willis J. and Robert Bruce, one grandson, Lyle Armitage, all of this place.  One daughter, Rosa Belle, died in infancy.  Three brothers and two sisters also survive.  Sykes P. Armitage of Rose Lawn, Wis., Joseph and Robert of Harrison, Ark., Mrs. Phoebe Lubbs of Seymour, Wis., and [line missing] 
 

Although Mr. Armitage never united with any church he lived an earnest Christian life and was a loyal supporter of the Methodist church.  He was a man of the highest integrity and lived a life the memory of which will remain for many years.  He was highly respected in his own neighborhood and also in this city where he had many friends.  Mr. Armitage was busied in the Neillsville cemetery last Tuesday afternoon.
