Hubing, Artice Elaine (Marriage - 1958)

Baskets of fall flowers decorated the altar of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili, for the marriage of Miss Artice Elaine Hubing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hubing, Neillsville, and Lawrence J. Babka, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Babka, also of Neillsville. The Rev. Robert Perkins performed the double ring ceremony in a 10:30 a.m. ceremony.  The church choir sang the nuptial Mass.

On the arm of her father, the bride entered the church wearing a gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle, with panels of lace set into a ballerina-length skirt. The fitted bodice featured a Sabrina neckline with long tapering sleeves. A veil of nylon tulle illusion fell from a princess crown trimmed with pearls and sequins.  She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white pompons.

Miss Betty Kumbera, cousin of the groom, was her maid of honor.  She was attired in a ballerina length dress of cotillion blue nylon lace and net with three quarter length sleeves and a Sabrina neckline. The skirt featured a bustle style back.

Attending the groom was Wendell Hubing, brother of the bride, as bestman.  Leonard Kumbera, Milwaukee, and Albert Heiser, Waukesha, ushered.

A wedding reception and supper was held at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville.

On their return from a wedding rip to Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Babka will reside in Black River Falls.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and a Milwaukee beauty school.  She has been employed in Neillsville for a number of years. The groom was graduated form Oconto Falls High School and the University of Wisconsin.  He is employed by the Farmers Home Administration and is a former Clark County 4-H Club agent.
