Ruege, Emma (16 May 1912)

The marriage of Clayton C. Hubbard and Miss Emma Ruege occurred last Thursday afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ruege.  The ceremony was performed at 5 o’clock b Rev. Mrs. Hubbard is a graduate of Neillsville high school and since graduating has taught in neighboring schools, but lately giving up a position in the Thorp schools.  She is a young lady of exceptionally winsome disposition and pleasing personality and her cheery smile has won her many sincere friends wherever she happened to be.  Mr. Hubbard is a young man whose sterling integrity and business ability is evident and he is highly spoken of by all who know him.  He is a resident of Red Cedar, but for the past five years has been a traveling salesman for the Punctureless Automobile Tire Co.  He has given up that position and will shortly leave with his wife for Portland, Ore., where he will engage in business for himself.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubbard left Thursday evening for an automobile tour, going to Thorp and thence to Red Cedar.  They will return here in about two weeks and after a brief visit will leave for their new home at Portland.  Mr. and Mrs. Newton Hubbard of Red Cedar and Mrs. J.W. McGwine and son, Kenneth, of Durand were here for the wedding.
