Cizek, June R. (18 JUN 1955)

At a lovely afternoon ceremony at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Park Ridge, Ill., on June 18, 1955, Miss June R. Cizek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Cizek of Withee (Clark Co.), Wis., became the bride of Mr. James F. Kangabel, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Kangabel, 1820 Elm St., Park Ridge.  Dr. Walter D. Spangler officiated at the two o’clock ceremony before an altar decorated with palms, all white flowers and numerous candles.  The white carpeted center aisle was enhanced by white satin ribbon markers along the pews.  Preceding and during the ceremony, Mrs. Perry Parsons sang, "O Promise Me," "At Dawning," and the Lord’s Prayer."

Wearing an embroidered nylon net hooped floor length gown, a short veil ornamented with sequins and seed pearls, and carrying a bouquet consisting of four white orchids surrounded by white roses, the bride was escorted to the altar by her father, who presented her for marriage.

Her sister, Miss Inez Cizek of Evanston was maid of honor, while Lorrie Parsons, sister of the bride, and Joyce Kangabel, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids.  His younger sister, Jeanne Kangabel, was the junior bridesmaid.

A lovely shade of mauve crystalette was used to attire the bride’s attendants; their gowns having been designed with scoop necklines and hooped skirts were touched off with large picture hats of the same material which completed their ensembles.  Each carried American Beauty roses surrounding four pale green orchids.

John C. Aldrich served as best man and Ted Wagner and Gerald Kangabel, all of Park Ridge, were the ushers.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Cizek chose a lace gown of soft rose color complemented with white accessories, while Mrs. Kangabel wore an ice blue gown with matching accessories.  Both their corsages were of orchids.

Following the service at the church, a reception was held at the spacious home of Mr. and Mrs. William Ruehr, 1021 Harrison, Park Ridge, where 120 guests were served.

The young couple left immediately on a flight to Acapulco, Mexico, where they honeymooned for two weeks, after which they returned to their home at Rogers and the lake on Chicago’s north side.

The bride graduated from Withee High School and has been employed in Chicago for the past several years as a fee lance model.  Her bridegroom, who is an alumnus of Maine High School and Lincoln College, also having studied law for two years of army service.  He is now with the Scot Paper Co. at their branch in Evanston, Ill.
