Anderson, Mary Lou (17 SEP 1955)

Miss Mary Lou Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Anderson, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Allan Lee Turnquist, son of Mr. Art Turnquist of Greenwood (Clark Co.), were married at the Alliance Chapel Saturday, Sept. 17, 1955, at two o’clock in the afternoon.  Rev. M. L. Anderson, brother of the bride, read the wedding ceremony.

The bride wore a floor length gown of lace over taffeta.  It was fashioned with a stand up collar and tiny buttons down the back.  She carried a colonial bouquet of carnations and roses.  The fingertip veil was of imported silk illusion decorated with sequins and pearls.

Donna Anderson was maid of honor.  Cora May Turnquist and Mrs. Orlando Ackerman were bridesmaids.  Miss Anderson wore a floor length gown of rose net over taffeta with little lace jacket.  She carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations.  The headpiece matched the gown.  The bridesmaids wore blue gowns designed identical to that of the maid of honor’s, and they carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations.

Gloria Arndt and Mary Lou Turnquist had the role of flower girls.  Their gowns were of lace over taffeta and styled identical to that of the bride’s.

Arlyn Turnquist was best man and James Turnquist and Orlando Ackerman were groomsmen.  They wore conventional business suits.

The church was beautifully decorated with pink, white and blue flowers with reception following in the church parlors.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Colby, Withee, Chippewa Falls, Loyal and Marshfield.

The young couple will make their home on route 1, Owen.
