Charles W. Hoepner, 67, Greenwood, went to meet the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at the Golden Living Center-Three Oaks, Marshfield. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Saturday, March 6, from 10 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate. Charles William Hoeper was born on Feb. 22, 1923, in Dawson, Mont., to Arnold and Maude (nee McConahay) Hoeper. When he was a young boy, his family moved to Owen where he was raised and received his education. He married Violet Tieman on May 21, 1950, in Greenwood. After their marriage, they resided in Withee. He worked various jobs throughout his life. He was a construction worker on the Garrison Dam in North Dakota, an iron worker in Duluth, and had a number of construction jobs throughout the state of Wisconsin in his younger years. He later took up farming, which brought him to the Tieman farm, in Greenwood, in 1968. He farmed there until his retirement. He then worked at the IGA in Greenwood, as a custodian.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and watching sports. He will always be remembered as a very loving man with a big heart.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Rodney Hoeper, Marshfield, Jeff (Joan) Hoeper, Greenwood, Todd (Kathy) Hoeper, Marshfield, and Tami (Dave) Miller, Maiden Rock; a son-in-law, Tom Pankratz, Washburn; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Hoeper, Omaha, Neb.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Violet, on May 17, 1987; a daughter, Susan Pankratz, on April 6, 2005, and two brothers, Clyde Hoeper and Phil Hoeper.
