Voegler, Christoph (22 AUG 1895 - 28 NOV 1955)

Today at two o’clock funeral services were held at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, for Christoph Voegler, 60, who died suddenly of a heart attack at 8:45 Monday morning while at his farm home west of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on Highway 29.

Officiating at the final rites was Rev. W. Clayton Nielsen, Withee, pastor of the parish, with burial being made in the parish cemetery.  During the service vocal selections were sung by Mrs. V. A. Hansen with Louise Hansen accompanying her at the organ.

Serving as pallbearers were Ewald Ammentorp, Alfred Frost, Sigurd Sorenson, Axel Sorenson, John Petersen and Emil Niemi.

Christoph Voegler was born on Aug. 22, 1895, at Fall Creek, Wis., where he received his schooling.  On Nov. 20, 1933, he was united in marriage to Mabel Volbrecht in a ceremony performed at Eau Claire, Wis.  Two years later the couple came to this community, settling on their farm just west of Withee on Highway 29, where they successfully farmed and engaged in community activities for the past 20 years.

He had an honorable service record obtained during World War I and ever since moving to this community was an active parishioner of the Nazareth Lutheran Church of Withee.

Surviving him are his wife; five brothers, Hubert of Chippewa Falls; John of Vancouver, Wash.; Oscar of Milwaukee; Edgar of Hallie and Adolph of Abbotsford, and one sister, Vilma, a nurse at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, Wis.
