Rhoor, Florence (15 MAR 1896 - 12 DEC 1955)

 

At two o’clock this afternoon funeral services for Mrs. John Rhoor, 57, were conducted from St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, city, with Father Laurence Brenton officiating.  Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Alan Burhop, J. Kollmansberger, A. Raek, Dennis Newman, Paul Heinz and Chester Nurva.

 

Mrs. Rhoor, nee Florence Fencher, was born on March 15, 1896, at Waupaca.  In 1917 she was united in marriage to John Rhoor with the couple establishing their home on a farm in the Town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) where they resided until five years ago when they moved into the city of Owen.

 

Mrs. Rhoor’s death came as a shock and surprise to members of her family and friends, as she had been ill only a week.  When she became ill she was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield for treatment, leaving her home a week ago today.  Death came to her Monday afternoon.

 

Mourning her death are her husband, four sons, Jerry, Milwaukee; Harold, Chicago; Kenneth of California, and Wayne, who is serving with the U.S. Navy; four brothers, Elwayne, Harold and Robert of Janesville; and Roy, who resides in the state of Washington; three sisters, Mrs. William Borden, Poy Sippl, Wis.; Mrs. Melvin Boos, Janesville; and Mrs. Clarence Scidmore, Janesville, and five grandchildren.
