Fuller, Mildred Pauline (Engledow) Altenberger (June 5, 1913 - June 26, 2002)

New London - Age 89, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at the Manawa Community Nursing Center.

She was born on June 5, 1913 in Shellsburg, Iowa; daughter of the late George and Fanny (Moulds) Engledow.

Mildred graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a degree in teaching. She taught at several area schools. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London and their Ladies Aid, Retired Educators and the Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by two daughters; Patricia (Don) Haefs, New London; Julie (Ken) Hilgart Park Falls; two sons: William (Gloria) Altenberger, Arlington Heights, Illinois; Ronald (Marlene) Fuller, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; three sisters; Bernadine Watson, Kansas; Doris (Harold) Schultz, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dorothy Mixdorf, La Porte City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband William Altenberger in 1936; second husband Marion Lee in 1957; two brothers Raymond and Wilbur; and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Favorite officiating. Burial will be in the Flora Hill Cemetery in New London.

Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday a the church until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established.
