Kowalewski, Dorothy (5 MAY 1956)

The Very Rev. J. Francis Brady read the double ring wedding ceremony at 10:00 a.m., May 5, 1956, for Miss Dorothy Kowalewski and Gerald Dusick.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kowalewski, 523 Sixth Ave., Eau Claire, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dusick, Boyd.

White carnations were on the altar for the wedding ceremony, which took place at St. Patrick’s Church.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, carried white roses and stephanotis on a white prayer book.

She chose a floor length gown of French rose point lace and tulle over satin.  The bodice had wrist length sleeves and a V neckline with a standup court collar edged in hand clipped scallops embroidered with sequins and pearls.  Layers of tulle with over panels of lace in a redingote style created the bouffant skirt.  A sculptured crown of seed pearls, sequins, and brilliants held her imported silk illusion bridal veil.

Miss Mary Kowalewski attended her sister as maid of honor.  She carried a nosegay of yellow carnations.  Her floor length French orchid gown was of nylon lace and net over taffeta.  It was styled with a strapless bodice, cap sleeve jacket with a point collar, and gathered skirt of net detailed with rows of lace ruffles at the hipline.  She had a matching half hat.

Bridesmaids were Mrs. Clarence Tio, Eau Claire, the groom’s sister, and Miss Roselia Tio of Gilman.  Their gowns were maize and mint green respectively, styled after that of the maid of honor.  Each carried a nosegay of orchid carnations.

Flower girl was Barbara Mahal of Plainsville, the groom’s niece.  She wore a white dress and carried a nosegay bouquet of yellow carnations.

The rings were carried by the groom’s nephew, Bobby Tio.

Best man was Donald Dusick, Boyd, the groom’s brother.  Groomsmen were Clarence Tio, the groom’s brother-in-law, and Mike Kowalewski, Jr., the bride’s brother.

The bride’s mother wore a beige print dress, and the groom’s mother wore a gray print dress for the wedding.  Each had a corsage of red roses.

A dinner and reception were held at the VFW Club in the afternoon.

The bride chose a pink linen suit with black and navy blue accessories for her going away costume.  The couple took a wedding trip to southern Wisconsin.

They will live at 1218 White Ave., Beloit.

A dinner and shower were given by Mr. and Mrs. Webster and a shower was given by Mary Kowalewski, Alice Tio and Roselia Tio.
