Rogstad, Dorothy (30 AUG 1947)

In a nuptial high mass performed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church here, at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, Miss Dorothy Rogstad of Loyal, daughter of Edward Rogstad of Bismarck, N.D., became the bride of Donald b. Weyhmiller, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Weyhmiller of Loyal. Celebrandt was the Rev. Fr. Aloys Zinthefer, and songs were sung by St. Anthony’s choir. The church was decorated with gladiolas.

The bride was gowned in a white satin dress, trimmed with lace, and with a long train. She wore a fingertip veil, trimmed with a crown of seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet og red roses with a border of gladiola around streamers, with a white ribbon. Her double strand of pearls was a gift of the groom. For "something old and borrowed," she had a lace handkerchief from her grandmother, Mrs. Clara Burr, and "for something blue," a tiny blue ribbon tied on the end of her train and made by Mrs. Ethel Will.

Matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Delores La Barge, who wore a white marquisette dress, trimmed with lace, and had on elbow length gloves and a white floral headdress. She wore a triple strand of beads. The bridesmaids were Kathleen and Ethel Kroening of Kenosha, cousins of the bride, both of whom wore marching pink brocaded dresses, with elbow gloves, pink floral headdresses, and carried pink roses, with asters and pink ribbons, and with single strands of beads. All three attendants wore ankle chains, gifts of the bride.

The groom was attended by a friend, James Brusky on Marshfield, as best man, and Harold Rogstad, the bride’s brother, and Raymond La Barge, her brother-in-law, as groomsmen. Albert Degenhardt and Edward Bertz Jr. were ushers.

The ring bearer was Tommy Wehmiller, nephew of the groom, and flower girl was Marian Rogstad, sister of the bride. Tommy wore white trousers, with a navy blue coat, and carried a lily. Marian wore a dotted Swiss floor length dress trimmed in pink ribbons, and a pink hair ribbon. She carried a miniature of the bride’s bouquet on a white doilie. She also wore a gold chain with a cross, a gift of the bride.

The auditorium of the church, where dinner and supper were served to about 75 guests, was trimmed in white, pink, and blue streamers, with assorted wedding bells. The tables were decorated with gladiolas. A wedding dance was given that evening at the Silver Dome, near Neillsville.

Those from away who attended the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Tony Draxler and Mr. and Mrs. L.I. Burr of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Al Kroenlng, Ethel and Kathleen Kroening, Carl Gerlak, and Doris and Margie Fischer of Kenosha; Mrs. F. M. Wolf and daughters, Maxine and Joyce of Milwaukee; Ed Rogstad and daughters, Marian and Anita, and Harold Rogstad of Bismark, N. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor and Elizabeth Prossen of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor of La Crosse; Miss Harriet Weyhmiller of Minneapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Rossman of Eau Claire.

The bridal couple left Tuesday on an extended honeymoon trip, expecting to return to Loyal to make their home after SAept. 15.

The bride, who has been employed at Wepfer’s Pharmacy, expects to return to her work there. Her husband, who graduated from the Loyal high school with the class of 1941, is employed as a mechanic at the Braun Auto Co.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
