Sutter, Cynthia (29 SEP 1956)

The softly light chancel of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church featuring white gladiola and mum altar flowers was the setting for the Sept. 29th, 1956 wedding of Miss Cynthia Sutter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sutter, formerly of Owen, who exchanged marriage vows with Mrs. Darrel Ebert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Ebert, Green Lake.  The 2:30 ceremony was officiated by the Rev. L. C. Brenton.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was wearing a white embroidered taffeta floor length gown.  The bride’s dress, with simple princess lines, featured a V-neckline and long sleeves.  Her spiral headpiece held the fingertip veil.  White Fiji mums touched with blue carnations made up the bride’s fall cascade.

Miss Gretchen Sutter, a sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor.  Her blue street length dress and headpiece were styled similarly to the bride’s and she carried a colonial bouquet of white mums and blue carnations.

Donald Hoffman, formerly of Green Lake, and college friend of the groom, was the best man in the double ring ceremony.  Bill McKinnon and Charles Sorenson, college friends of the groom, were the ushers.

Organ music was provided by Miss Ann Richardson, Menomonie, cousin of the bride.

The bride’s mother was attired in a gray shantung dress and the groom’s mother wore a dark lavender dress.  Both wore corsages of white mums and blue carnations.

The wedding reception for 150 guests was held in the church parlors.

Out of town guests were from Green Lake, Berlin, Ripon, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Menomonie and Waupun.

Both the bride and groom are juniors at Stout State College, Menomonie, Wis.
