Willard, Carrie (? - 4 Jul 1913)

Mrs. George Willard died at her home at Leominster, Massachusetts, on July 4th after a brief illness.  The funeral services were held there the following Monday.

Mrs. Willard’s maiden name was Miss Carrie P. Gallaher, and she is well remembered by many of the older residents of Neillsville.  She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Gallaher, who came to Clark County early in the 60’s, Mr. Gallaher owning the planing mill here for many years.  She was a resident here until 1890, when she was married to Mr. Willard.  They then made their home at Dallas, Ore., until about ten years ago, when they moved to Mr. Willard’s old home in Massachusetts.

She is survived by her husband, two children and five brothers.

Mrs. Willard was a devout Christian woman, and had been a member of the Methodist Church since her childhood.  During her life here she was an active member of that church.  She had considerable talent as a musician, and for a number of years she was one of the Methodist Church choir.  She was a devoted wife and mother, and one whose friendship was greatly valued by all who knew her.
