Pastor, Mary (31 AUG 1920 - 16 APR 2010)

Mary Jane Pastor, 89, Mosinee, formerly of Loyal, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston, due to complications of congestive heart failure. Funeral services were held at11 a.m., on Monday, June 21, at St. Mary;s Catholic Church, Greenwood. Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mary Jane Peck was born on Aug. 31, 1920, in Chicago. She was one of nine brothers and sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. In September 1938, Mary became Mrs. Joseph Pastor. They raised two children, Joseph and Nancy. They farmed in rural Greenwood for many years. She also operated Pastor’s Antique Shop there, and continued the shop when they retired to the city of Greenwood and later rural Loyal hobby farm before finally retiring to Greenwood again. In 2005, Mary moved to the Dancy area, near Mosinee, to be closer to family.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and everyone enjoyed her company. She made, and kept, many friends of all ages. She will always be remembered for the many lives she touched in her 89 years of life. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzles were a challenge that she loved.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Hindman; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Channing; three grandchildren, Lori (Harvey) Olson, Julie (Wayne) Petersen, and Joseph Hindman; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a nephew, Tom Campbell, who was a large part of her life and like a second son.

Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Joe, in 1996; her beloved son Joe, in 2001; and her son-in-law, Bud, in 2009, who was her chauffeur and confidant whom she shared many times reminiscing of the good old days. Bud lovingly referred to her as "Granny." Their relationship was very special.

Rest in peace Mom, you gave so many much happiness. Until we meet again, you will forever be in our hearts. Our love for you will never cease. Life will be difficult without you.

Mary’s family would like to thank the entire third floor staff at St. Clare’s Hospital for their consideration, kindness, and compassion during her hospitalization. May God bless each and every one of you.
