Mueller, Arlene (24 APRIL 1948)

One of the most beautiful weddings of the season was solemnized at Salem’s Evangelical Lutheran church in Veefkind on Saturday, Apr. 24, when Arlene Ruth Mueller became the bride of Robert B. Forsyth. The Rev. G. Neuman officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Mrs. Forsyth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Mueller of Spencer, and Mr. Forsyth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Forsyth in Mount Vernon, Wash.

The bride’s gown was fashioned of beautiful nylon sheer over net and taffeta and made with a fitted bodice, full skirt and a three yard train. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a seed pearl wreath. Her flowers were pink roses, regal lilies and beach and white carnations, tied with a large satin bow.

Mrs. Richard Mueller of Milwaukee, sister-in-law of the bride, as matron of honor, was gowned in a pastel orchid rayon marquisette formal, with capped sleeves and a fitted bodice and ruffled skirt. She carried a wrist bouquet of yellow carnations, with yellow ribbon ties.

Miss Margaret Peterson of Eau Claire, a close friend of the bride was bridesmaid. She was gowned in lime green moiré, made with a fitted bodice and full skirt, and she carried a yellow carnation wrist bouquet tied in lavender ribbon.

Miss Betty Jean Fisher, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid, and she was gowned in a pastel yellow marquisette, made with capped sleeves, fitted bodice and ruffled skirt, Her wrist bouquet was of pink and yellow carnations. All of the bride’s attendants wore heart shaped net bonnets matching their gowns in color.

The ring bearer was little Jacqueline Buchrer, daughter of a friend, Mrs. C. Buehrer, of Milwaukee. She carried the rings on a heart-shaped pillow of white carnations. She was dressed in a long  white ruffled hoop skirt, with overskirt caught up in scallops with yellow ribbon bows.

Ardith Ann Albrecht, little godchild of the bride, was gowned in ruffled white net over taffeta and carried a white basket of colored and white spring flowers. She is the daughter of Mrs. Esther Albrecht of Black Creek.

The groom wore a steel blue business suit and his attendants were Richard Mueller, the bride’s brother, and Gerald Giloy of Humbird, her uncle. Martin Fisher of Spencer and Robert Giloy of Marshfield, also uncles of the bride, were ushers.

The altar was beautifully decorated with spring flowers, flanked by palms on either side. Miss Donna Mae Gotter of Loyal played the wedding marches and accompanied Vern Dahlby as he sang "Because" and "A Prayer" during the ceremony.

For the address, the bride chose her confirmation text, taken from Psalm 37:5, Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass."

After the ceremony, a bountiful dinner was served to 125 guests.

Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. William Ternes and daughter, Dorothy, and son, Bernard of Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Harry TeSelle and daughter, Faye, of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schluetter of Evansville, Mr. and Mrs. William Giloy and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Giloy and children of Marshfield, and many other relatives and friends.
