Schwarze, Carl S. (1902? - AUG 1966)

 

Carl S. Schwarze, an employee of Napa State Hospital for the past 17 years, died recently at Queen of the Valley Hospital after a brief illness.

 

Mr. Schwarze, 64, was a native of Wisconsin.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1928 and served in World War II as a chief pharmacist mate and lieutenant.  The Navy transferred him here when the tuberculosis unit was established at the state hospital where he had been employed as a civilian since his retirement from the Navy.  The family home is at 2850 Marin St.

 

He was a member of the California State Employees Association 27 and Fleet Reserve Branch 198.

 

Survivors include his widow, the former Edith Gay, whom he married in February 1947; two sons, James C. and Thomas W. Schwarze, both of Napa, Calif.; his mother, Gusta M. Schwarze of Greenwood, Wis.; and two brothers, Wesley Schwarze of Greenwood and Herbert Schwarze of Hopkins, Minn.

 

The Rev. Owen Grams officiated at funeral services Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Services.  Interment was at Tulocay Cemetery.
