Gustafson, Selma (22 JAN 1888 - 28 MAR 1966)

 

Mrs. Selma Gustafson, 78, Chicago, a former Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, died Monday, March 28, 1966, in Chicago following a lingering illness.

 

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Chicago.  The body was then brought to the Hill Funeral Home here where services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday.  The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, conducted the services here.  Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

 

The former Selma Johnson was born Jan. 22, 1888, in the town of Warner, Clark County.  Her marriage to David Gustafson, who preceded her in death October 1947, took place June 20, 1910 in Greenwood.

 

After their marriage they made their home in Greenwood until 1916, when they moved to Benton Harbor, Mich.  In 1935 they moved to Chicago where she had resided since.

 

Survivors are three sons, Edwin, Eau Claire, Mich.; Simon, Benton Harbor, Mich.; Leonard, Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Trgve (Evelyn) Oas, Chicago; Mrs. William (Ella) Thornen, Bethesad; Mich.; and Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Neutzhorn, Bensenville, Ill.; a brother, Leonard Johnson, Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs. Josie Hubble, Neillsville; and Mrs. Sigward Johnson, Loyal; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

 

A daughter preceded her in death.
