Fassbender, Alfred (11 August 1869 - 2 April 1937)

 

Abbotsford - Alfred Fassbender, 67, Riplinger farmer, died suddenly yesterday morning at 7 o’clock.  Embolism was attributed as the cause of his death.  He had spent several hours doing chores at his home earlier in the morning.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Swarthout Funeral Home.  The Rev. Paul Nulton, Colby will officiate, and interment will take place in Beaver Cemetery.

 

Mr. Fassbender was born on Aug. 11, 1869, in Grant County and was married there to Miss Laura Sutton in March 1898.  He was engaged in farming throughout his life, and had been a resident of this community for the past 23 years.  Mrs. Fassbender preceded him in death.

 

Surviving Mr. Fassbender are a daughter, Mrs. Fred Youmans, Withee; and a son, Ben Fassbender, Riplinger; two brothers, James Fassbender, Patch Grove; and Theodore Fassbender, Republic, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Hoyt, Grand Junction, Colo.; and Mrs. Laura Geiger; Withee, also survive.

 

Members of the Odd Fellows Lodge of Unity, to which he belonged, will attend the funeral in a body.
