Peterson, Margaret (5 MAY 1950)

 

Miss Margaret Peterson of Eau Claire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson of Spencer, and Paul R. Giles of Eau Claire, were married in the First Baptist Church of Eau Claire on Friday afternoon, May 5, 1950.

 

The Rev. John Giles, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Ashley, officiated at the double ring ceremony.  The bride was given in marriage by her father.  The church was decorated with two baskets of mixed flowers.

 

Attending the couple were Mrs. Robert Forsyth of Spokane, Wash., a friend of the bride, and Donald Peterson of Stillwater, Minn., brother of the bride.  Ushers were Harry Owen and Richard Morley of Eau Claire.

 

The bride was attired in a gown of white marquisette over satin, trimmed with lace.  Her bouquet was made up of red roses and stephanotis.  The matron of honor wore a dress of aqua taffeta, trimmed with lace, and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and daffodils.

 

Organist at the ceremony was Mrs. John Giles, a sister-in-law of the groom, and the soloist was Eileen Giles, his cousin.

 

Following the ceremony, a reception as held in the church parlors.

 

For the occasion, the bride’s mother wore a dress of lavender bemberg, with black accessories, and the groom’s mother wore a green dress, with gold and black accessories.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School, with the class of 1945.

 

The newlyweds are now at home at 415 Congress St., Eau Claire.

 

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
