Kauffman, Dorothy (13 MAY 1950)

 

Miss Dorothy Kauffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V. O. Kauffman of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Ervin J. Steiger of Neillsville, in a ceremony performed at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 1950, in the Loyal Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lee Holmes officiating.

 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white wedding gown, featuring a satin bodice, round neckline, lace yoke and a nylon skirt falling into a long train.  She carried a bridal bouquet.

 

Attending her were three of her cousins, all from Greenwood.  Mrs. Kenneth Steiger and Miss Donna Mae Baird, as matron of honor and bridesmaid, respectively, were attired in white marquisette and carried yellow gladioli.  Mary Jane Bergemann was flower girl.

 

Kenneth Steiger attended his brother as best man, and the bride’s brother, Donald Kauffman, was the groomsman.  Ushering for the ceremony were the bride’s cousin, James Dave,l and Howard Sturtz, Jr.

 

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and a dinner was served in the church basement.

 

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal High School with the class of 1945, and the groom, a graduate of the Greenwood High School, is employed at the Neillsville Production and Credit Association.

 

When the couple returns from a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota, they will reside at Neillsville.

 

Out of town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. William Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Mitschka, Mrs. Ella Steiger, Miss Selma Reineking, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sebastian, Mrs. Bertha Sebastian and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Seilaff, all of Milwaukee; Ronald Davel of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Kauffman and son, Jerry, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Reineking of Madison; Mrs. Nettie Wintzen and Sam Amundson, both of Melrose; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Raab of Berlin.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barr and family and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Keller of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ziemendorf and son, Jackie, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Richman and family of Wis. Rapids; Jim Davel of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Art Reineking, Doylestown; Mr. and Mrs. Art Wehrman and family and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Decker, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Arny Arneson of Spring Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Steiger of Plum City; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hayden and family and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dopp, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fahey of Stanley.
