Lueck, Bernita #2 (27 MAY 1950)

Miss Bernita Lueck, daughter of Mrs. Elsie Lueck of the town of York (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Vernard D. Swieso, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swieso of Greenwood, in a nuptial ceremony performed at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 1950, in St. John’s Lutheran Church at Greenwood, with the Rev. Walter Schedler officiating.

The bride was gowned in an entrained dress of white slipper satin, featuring a fitted bodice and long sleeves, and Chantilly lace edging the train.  Her fingertip veil fell from a headdress of beads and rhinestones, and she carried a bouquet of lilies and red roses.

Miss Norma Jane Lueck of Marshfield, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.  She wore a gown of lilac taffeta, with a net yoke, ruffle fitted bodice and a peplum falling over a hoop skirt, and she carried a bouquet of yellow and lilac carnations.

Miss Geraldine Reinhardt of Greenwood, dressed in a gown of green taffeta, and Mrs. Raymond Johnson of Loyal, in yellow taffeta, both styled identical to the maid of honor’s dress, were the bridesmaids.

Wilbert Swieso brother of the groom, was best man, and Elmer Lueck, brother of the bride, and Ray Johnson were the groomsmen.  Harland Carl of Madison, cousin of the bride, and Kenneth White of Marshfield, cousin of the groom, were the groomsmen.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother after the ceremony, and in the evening a wedding dance was held at the Silver Dome, near Neillsville.

Loyal people attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Herb White, Mr. and Mrs. James White, and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Colby.

The bride, who graduated from the Loyal High School with the class of 1946, has been employed by the Clark Electric Cooperative at Greenwood, and the groom, a graduate of the Greenwood High School, is employed as a field man for the Clark County Milk Quality Improvement Association.

When the newlyweds return from a honeymoon through Canada and New York, they will reside in Greenwood.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
