Hatcher, Elsie (Marriage - 2 May 1959)

 

Miss Elsie Hatcher of Wausau and Harry Schultz of Abbotsford exchanged marriage vows, Saturday afternoon, May 2, at Sarona, Wis.

 

The bride is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hatcher of Sarona and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz of Abbotsford.

 

Jack Pease, a friend, gave the bride in marriage and the Rev. Einor Greenbolt was the officiating clergyman at the double ring ceremony performed in the Sarona Methodist church at 2:00 o’clock.

 

Miss Mary Beth Erdman was organist and accompanied for Miss Dawn Narron, who sang "Because," and "O Perfect Love." Miss Jean Erdman served as maid of honor. All are friends of the bride, and are from Wausau.

 

Donald Kalepp was best man for his uncle. Neil Bailey of Sarona and Dick Perkins of St. Paul were ushers.

 

For the ceremony, the bride chose a street length dress of delphinium blue lace over taffeta. It was designed with a jacket with bracelet length sleeves. She wore a blue veiled head piece of apple blossoms and pearls. Her pearl necklace with matching earrings and bracelet were a gift of the groom. She carried a powder puff bouquet of pink roses and white mums.

 

A similar bouquet of yellow roses and white mums were carried by the maid of honor who was attired in a princess style dress of pink cobana cloth. With it she wore a short jacket with bracelet length sleeves, pearl accessories and a clip hat of pink apple blossoms and pearls.

 

The groom’s mother wore a beige linen and lace dress with apricot hat. Mrs. Harvey Peterson, sister of the bride, attended in a navy dress with white accessories and Mrs. William Kalepp, sister of the groom, of Abbotsford, had a two-tone gray ensemble with navy accessories. All had corsages of pink and white carnations.

 

Following the ceremony, a reception for about 150 guests was held at the community hall. Miss Shirley Kalepp, Abbotsford, niece of the groom, was in charge of the guest book. Miss Arlene Gusman cut the cake. Miss Joanne Johnson opened the gifts, and Miss Nancy Melang served punch. All are friends of the bride, from Wausau.

 

Both the bride and the groom attended the School for the Blind at Janesville. The bride, who has a seeing eye shepherd, named "Alf" is employed in the stenographic department at the East Side branch of Employers Mutuals, at Wausau.

 

The groom is a piano tuner and musician.

 

They will make their home in Abbotsford.

 

Attending the wedding from here were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. William Kalepp and grand son, Gary Stargardt, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kalepp, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Knight, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Grammer and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Beck.
