Fillingim, Helen Arleen (Marriage - 14 June 1959)

Marriage vows were exchanged between Helen Arleen Fillingim and AMH -3 La Vern Franklin Kalepp, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock in Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the double ring ceremony during which Herbert Juneau sang "Because," and "The Lord’s Prayer."

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Hogen M. Kleven of San Diego, California, and Mr. and Mrs. William Kalepp of Abbotsford.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a waltz length dress of pale blue embroidered nylon organza. Her short veil of matching color was attached to a pearl head piece. She wore a pearl necklace and carried a shower bouquet of pink gardenias, centered with two white orchids, backed with lily of the valley.

Attending her as maid of honor was her cousin, Miss Elaine Kringen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and as bridesmaid, Miss Shirley Kalepp, sister of the groom. They wore street length dresses of pink chiffon over net and taffeta with V neck lines, satin trimmed. Their matching veil head pieces were similar to the bride’s. They carried cascade bouquets of blue camellias with blue net and pink ribbon background.

Miss Corrine Fillingim of Oakland, California, was flower girl. She was attired in pink with matching bonnet and carried a basket of pink and blue forget-me-nots. All wore white gloves.

The mothers of the bridal couple wore blue net dresses with white accessories and had corsages of pink orchids. Mrs. Adolph Kalepp and Mrs. Frank Schultz, grand mothers of the groom, had corsages of pink gardenias.

Attending the groom were his brothers, Donald, as best man, and Kenneth, as groomsman. Kim Kalepp, a cousin, was ring bearer. Floyd Stargardt, of Marshfield, a brother-in-law, ushered the guests at the church.

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served in the church parlors and a reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents.

Guests at the wedding came from Oakland and San Diego, California; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Madison, Marshfield, Shawano, Wausau, Tomahawk, Dorchester, and Camp McCoy.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Kalepp will make their home at Linda-Vista, Cal., after July 1. The bride is a book keeper and the groom is in the navy.
