Brost, Barbara (Marriage - 25 July 1959)

Kenneth Seidel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Seidel, Abbotsford, and Miss Barbara Brost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brost, Meford, exchanged marriage vows at 3:00 o’clock Saturday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Stetsonville. The Rev. Wilfred Fries witnessed the double ring ceremony before the nuptial mass.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Chantilly lace designed with a lace bodice, long sleeves and Sabrina neckline, detailed with sequins. The skirt had a lace front and ruffled tulle back with a satin hoop skirt. Pearls trimmed the crown which held her fingertip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Marion Seidel, the groom’s sister, Abbotsford, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Sally Erl, a friend, of Medford, and Miss Ella Seidel, another sister of the groom, of Abbotsford. They wore ballerina length gowns of embroidered nylon over net with cummerbund, and a large bow in the back. Nile green was worn by the maid of honor and yellow by the bridesmaids. Small white veils were attached to white crowns for the head dresses and pink carnations and white pompons were combined in their colonial bouquets.

Attending the groom were the bride’s brother, Darryl Brost, as best man, and Gerald and James Seidel, brothers of the groom. Ushers were Dennis Brost, another brother of the bride, and Peter Gierl, cousin of the groom.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Brost wore a light green dress with white accessories and a corsage of yellow and white carnations.

Mrs. Seidel wore a turquoise blue lace dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white carnations.

Twenty-five guests were served dinner at the home of the bride’s parents and about 150 attended the reception held at the V.F.W. hall at Medford from 2:00 to 4:00 o’clock, and supper at 4:30. In the evening a private wedding dance was held at the same place.

Guests came from Abbotsford, Dorchester, Stetsonville, Tomahawk, Curtiss, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Altoona, Cazenovia, Rhinelander, Waukegan, Michigan, Minnesota, and Oregon.
