Grandy, Brenda Ann (Marriage - 12 Dec. 1959)

Miss Brenda Ann Grandy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Grandy of Abbotsford and James Becker, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Becker of Route 1, Medford, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss.

The Rev. Theodore C. Predoehl of Withee officiated at the double ring exchange of vows. During the ceremony, Mrs. Ethel Johnson sang "O Promise Me," and "O Perfect Love." Mrs. Glen Buchanan was her accompanist and Miss Darlene Manglos played the wedding marches.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over satin, styled with a bolero neckline, long sleeves, and a skirt tiered in the back with ruffles. Her finger tip veil was lace edged and was held by a rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of white and red carnations.

Miss Janet Buss of Minneapolis, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Mary Grandy, Abbotsford, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.

They wore identically styled waltz length dresses of lace over taffeta with matching stole. Pink was chosen for the maid of honor and blue for the junior bridesmaid. They carried bouquets of white and yellow carnations.

Ralph Grandy, of Abbotsford, brother of the bride, was best man. Ronald Johnson of Withee, cousin of the bride, was junior groomsman and Clarence Johnson, Curtiss, ushered.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held and supper served at the Evangelical Lutheran church hall.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Becker greeted friends at a wedding dance at Memorial hall, Dorchester.

After they return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan and Mackinac, they will make their home on Route 1, Medford, where the groom is engaged in hauling milk and farming. Before her marriage, the bride was employed by the Thorp Finance Corporation, of Thorp.

Guests of the wedding came from Withee, Owen, Milwaukee, Pou???, Stetsonville, Medford and Minnesota.
